SPECIALIST IN SHOULDER, FOOT AND ELBOW SURGERY – INTERNATIONAL EXPERTISE
Prof. Dr. Felix Zeifang is a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery. As an orthopaedic surgeon, he holds additional qualifications in sports medicine, special orthopaedic surgery, rheumatology and paediatric orthopaedics. Prof. Dr. Zeifang has been a specialist in shoulder and elbow surgery and foot surgery at the ETHIANUM Heidelberg since 2018.
He previously headed the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Section and the Upper Extremities Section at the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at Heidelberg University Hospital. The shoulder and elbow specialist acquired his international expertise as a fellow for several months at renowned international centres such as Oxford University Hospitals and the University of Helsinki. He also headed the training centre of the German-speaking Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (DVSE) and regularly looked after national and international top athletes at the Olympic Training Centre in Heidelberg. In addition to his clinical work, he has been active for many years as 1st Vice President, counsellor and lecturer of the German Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (DVSE).
However, his clients particularly appreciate the time that the shoulder, foot and elbow surgeon takes for them. “Diagnostics is a responsible task,” says Prof. Dr. Zeifang. “It’s very important to me to look and listen carefully. That’s part of my job.” It is therefore very important for the specialist to find out before treatment what stresses and strains should be possible again at work or through sport and leisure activities. Prof. Dr. Zeifang develops his treatment plan on this basis, always individually, highly competently and with a great deal of empathy.
The married family man also demonstrates his sensitivity in his free time by playing the piano and cello.
