You may have already noticed it on our online presence: We like to talk about our clients instead of using the word patient. It is extremely important to us to communicate with you as equals. At the ETHIANUM Clinic Heidelberg, you are not a number, not just another patient. This is precisely what sets us apart in our clinic culture. You come as a private patient. You come voluntarily. We want to do justice to these circumstances. That is why you are more of a client with us. One for whom we take on a personal mandate for your health and well-being.

The medical specialists at the ETHIANUM Clinic are committed to being your point of contact at eye level. Our doctors are not superhumans or demigods in white. Rather, they are the specialists you need and require in order to get well or stay well. The doctors at our clinic see you as a person who is looking for medical and health-related help, advice and treatment. Accordingly, we will always communicate with you as equals.

DISCRETION OUT OF CONVICTION

At the ETHIANUM Clinic, discretion and the obligation to maintain confidentiality are more than just a clause in the employment contract. All employees and doctors at the ETHIANUM Clinic are very aware of this sensitive topic. It is the basis for trust and part of our understanding of practising cutting-edge medicine.

However, in order to be able to guarantee you cutting-edge medicine and interdisciplinary co-operation between our specialists, an exchange of information between the specialist areas is essential.

It is therefore necessary to sign a patient consent form. By doing so, you release the specialist staff named in this consent from their duty of medical confidentiality and thus allow other medical staff to view, for example, laboratory results, X-ray images, therapy and operation reports as well as doctor’s letters and discharge reports.

Nothing about your stay in our clinic will be revealed to the outside world; if you wish, you can remain incognito in our clinic.

In addition to medical confidentiality, we naturally also comply with data protection guidelines. To this end, we have implemented the following control and security measures when handling your data:

  • Information systems and communication systems (Internet, e-mail, etc.) are separated.
  • State-of-the-art interface management minimises security risks and is constantly monitored.
  • Detailed access authorisations clearly regulate which employees and doctors can view or process which information at what time.
