Dr Köllensperger’s enthusiasm for biology and the human body has been with her since childhood. Studying medicine was therefore an obvious choice. This degree was followed by periods at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich, a full scholarship at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas and work as a research trainee in the research laboratory of the Clinic for Plastic Surgery, Hand and Burn Surgery at the University Hospital Aachen. The plastic and aesthetic surgeon gained practical experience at numerous other clinics in Germany and abroad. Dr Köllensperger successfully transferred to the Rheinisch-Westfälisch Technische Hochschule specifically for her doctorate. In a double sense: her doctoral thesis was awarded the prize of the Faculty of Medicine for the best doctorate and the doctoral prize of Grünenthal GmbH Aachen. After her excellent studies, Dr. Köllensperger first worked as an intern and later as a junior doctor at Aachen University Hospital, then at BG Klinik Ludwighafen under the direction of Prof. Dr. Germann.
A groundbreaking encounter, as the Medical Director of the ETHIANUM Clinic was ultimately able to win over the experienced surgeon for his clinic and his visions. At the ETHIANUM, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Eva Köllensperger is highly committed to her specialist areas of scar correction, particularly in severe cases or after self-inflicted injuries. In addition, the experienced specialist demonstrates great sensitivity when it comes to intimate surgery and the counselling and treatment of her clients.
Since November 2010, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Eva Köllensperger has been head of the research laboratory that she herself set up at the ETHIANUM.
