The Regenic®principle is a holistic, biological therapeutic approach. It stimulates the regeneration of the body using the body’s own cells and plasma. REGENIC® PRINCIPLE
THE FIRST STAGE – PREVENTIVE OFFERS FOR YOUR HEALTH
In the first stage of the Regenic®principle, we offer you customised infusion solutions to support your vitality and stimulate your self-healing powers as part of our comprehensive preventive range. These infusion solutions also promote optimum regeneration after operations, illnesses or stressful and stressful everyday situations.
The infusions contain important vital substances in different compositions and concentrations. The infusions achieve their effect through a combination of different vitamins, trace elements, minerals and natural anti-ageing substances. REGENIC® PRINCIPLE
THE SECOND STAGE – PLASMA AND SERUM FOR THE BODY’S OWN REGENERATION
In the second stage, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and autologous conditioned serum (ACS) are used. This plasma or serum is obtained from your blood. Unwanted components are filtered out by centrifugation. The body’s own growth factors and cell messengers are physically enriched and activated.
The blood is taken from you via a regular, small blood sample. The processing only takes a few minutes. The plasma or serum can be administered to you immediately afterwards by our specialists.
From the second stage onwards, the Regenic®Principle offers the possibility of effectively and successfully supporting therapy for many different clinical pictures by stimulating the body’s own regenerative capacity.
This applies in particular to:
Degenerative and inflammatory tissue diseasess.
Diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including arthrosis, muscle, tendon and sports injuries (so-called tendinopathies)

THE THIRD STAGE – AUTOLOGOUS BLOOD COMBINED WITH ADIPOSE TISSUE
In the third stage of the Regenic®Principle, the use of nano- or microfat is also possible. This is also removed purely mechanically through a special filter mechanism from the body’s own regular fatty tissue by means of a short procedure under local anaesthetic. If desired, the fat can also be harvested under general anaesthetic. The fat tissue obtained is processed directly in the operating theatre. After just a few minutes, the nano- or microfat can be returned to you.
The combination of autologous blood and fatty tissue can lead to significant improvements.
For example, the combination of blood components with fatty tissue has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of saddle joint arthrosis.
The third stage of the Regenic®Principle has also proved to be very effective in the treatment of retracted scars or loss of volume and elasticity in the face.
REGENIC® PRINCIPLE
THE FOURTH STAGE – ACTIVATION OF LOCAL CELLS
This stage is a small preview of the near future.
In the fourth stage of the Regenic®Principle, highly potent cells are gently extracted from your body’s own fatty tissue, concentrated and transferred to the area to be treated in the same procedure. There, the cells work by activating the local cells, e.g. fibroblasts, endothelial cells and immune cells. The introduced cells promote blood circulation and stimulate wound healing. The cells also have an anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating effect.
It is planned to use the cells in the treatment of wound healing disorders, circulatory disorders or aseptic bone necrosis as well as osteoarthritis and sports injuries.
This procedure is currently in the authorisation phase, so we are not yet permitted to use it. However, we hope that this will be possible very soon. And we will of course keep you informed about this promising development.

Preventive medicine – infusions to stimulate self-healing
As part of our preventive medicine programme under the direction of Priv.-Doz. Dr Dr Felix Gramley, we offer you treatments from the first stage of the Regenic®Principle.
These include in particular infusions to support your vitality and stimulate your self-healing powers.

Plastic reconstructive surgery – autologous blood and autologous fat treatments for regeneration
In plastic reconstructive surgery, autologous fat is used in particular for filling after accidents or for scar treatments. A combination of autologous fat and autologous blood can also support the regenerative processes in the body.
There are different types of autologous fat. The type of autologous fat required by the client therefore depends on the desired treatment, meaning that different types of autologous fat can be produced depending on the application. Gentle harvesting and subsequent preparation of the fat cells is important for successful treatment.
It is interesting to note that autologous fat treatment can be combined with autologous blood to significantly increase the regeneration potential. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is obtained from the patient’s own blood. This is taken as part of a blood sample, separated and further processed into an autologous substrate rich in platelets and growth factors. This frees the plasma from inflammation-promoting messenger substances, red and white blood cells.
This is then gently injected into the area to be treated, where it ensures a further long-term release of regenerative growth factors, which strongly promote blood circulation, cell turnover and connective tissue formation. This creates an ideal basis for the introduction of the patient’s own fat cells and mesenchymal stem cells.
Spinal surgery – autologous blood treatments for osteoarthritis of the spine
Spinal surgery under the direction of Priv.-Doz. Berk Orakcioglu effectively treats pain in the spine caused by osteoarthritis with autologous blood treatments based on the Regenic®principle.
Osteoarthritis pain in the spine is a persistent challenge for conservative treatment. A large number of middle-aged and elderly people are often permanently afflicted. Until now, however, there has been no effective treatment method for osteoarthritis pain in the spine.
This is where the Regenic®principle comes in. This conservative treatment involves the body’s own blood, which is used to relieve pain. The special focus of the Regenic®principle on the spine is on anti-inflammation and pain relief.
This can be used in the following cases

This enables our specialists to effectively treat the pain caused by osteoarthritis of the spine and even avoid surgery.
Hand surgery – autologous blood and autologous fat treatments for osteoarthritis
Our clinic founder Prof. Dr. Germann is responsible for hand surgery at the ETHIANUM Clinic. The specialist department pursues an innovative concept for the treatment of arthrosis in the hand. The Regenic®principle has a positive influence on the progression of osteoarthritis with its step-by-step therapy procedure. This can prevent or at least postpone operations.
The ETHIANUM team has particular expertise in the area of saddle joint arthrosis of the thumb. This is the most common form of arthrosis in the wrist. By injecting the body’s own blood and fatty tissue into the saddle joint, the regeneration of the joint can be stimulated. Inflammation can also be reduced. In addition, the blood flow to the damaged joint can be modulated.
Depending on the type and extent of the arthrosis, very individualised, different compositions of the blood and fat components can be produced so that we can offer the ideal procedure for every indication.
Orthopaedics – autologous blood and autologous fat treatments for hip and knee osteoarthritis
Prof Dr Jörg Holstein is the hip and knee arthrosis expert at the ETHIANUM Clinic in Heidelberg. In his specialist field, Prof Dr Holstein also uses the Regenic®principle for osteoarthritis of the hip or knee.
This innovative method can have a positive effect on the progression of hip or knee osteoarthritis. Surgery can also be avoided or at least delayed. Using special procedures, highly effective factors are extracted from the body’s own blood or fatty tissue and injected into the hip or knee joint.
These factors can stimulate the regeneration of the joint, reduce inflammation as a result of osteoarthritis and also modulate blood flow to the damaged joint structures.
Depending on the type and extent of the arthrosis, different compositions of the blood and fat components can be produced on a highly individualised basis, so that we can offer the ideal procedure for every indication.
Orthopaedics – autologous blood treatment for shoulder and elbow pain
Prof Dr Felix Zeifang is responsible for shoulder treatments based on the Regenic®principle. The specialist in shoulder, foot and elbow surgery sees great potential in the procedure for treating persistent shoulder pain.
The aim is to successfully treat inflammation or incipient lesions. With the Regenic®programme, it is possible to activate the body’s own repair processes through therapies using the patient’s own blood. In this way, inflammatory processes or incipient degenerative changes can be successfully treated. As a result, the complex movement sequences of the shoulder can be preserved.
The Regenic®principle can be used peri- or post-operatively. Among other things, it can often optimise tendon healing and radically minimise the risk of inflammation. This also applies to the elbow. This is because the most common complaints in the elbow area are caused by inflammation.
In some cases, the inflammation is accompanied by circumscribed defects in the tendon insertions on the outside and inside of the joint. With the help of the Regenic®principle, the inflammatory processes can also be contained here by autologous blood therapy and repair processes activated.
Aesthetic surgery – autologous fat and autologous blood for breast and buttock augmentation
In aesthetic surgery, autologous fat for breast and buttock augmentation or the treatment of skin problems using the Regenic®principle has become indispensable. The autologous fat is applied to the desired area of the body, such as the breast or buttocks, using small atraumatic cannulas and uniform fan-shaped movements.
Each type of fat has its own area of application and can therefore be adapted to the needs of the treatment. The type of autologous fat required by the client depends on the desired treatment, meaning that different types of autologous fat can be produced depending on the application. What is important for a successful treatment is the gentle extraction and subsequent preparation of the fat cells and an even and careful application to the new area.
The autologous fat treatment can be combined with a special form of autologous blood, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), to significantly increase the regeneration potential.
