The outpatient surgery centre at the ETHIANUM Clinic is always used when an inpatient stay is not necessary for an operation. Thanks to state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical methods, numerous surgical procedures can now be performed on an outpatient basis. Many operations from a wide range of specialist areas are planned and performed in the outpatient surgery centre. These can include, for example, minor hand surgery or aesthetic surgery such as intimate surgery, laser treatment or the removal of small skin or soft tissue tumours.

Surgical outpatient clinic with sophisticated extras

Thanks to numerous extras, we have succeeded in creating a surgical outpatient clinic in which maximum safety during your operation and effective utilisation through the shortest possible operating time go hand in hand. There are a total of four recovery rooms. Equipped with a wardrobe and a comfortable armchair that can be converted into a couch, you can store your wardrobe, lock up your valuables and rest and relax in these quiet rooms after an operation. The relaxation rooms are equipped with bedside terminals that allow you to use various electronic devices. Magazines are also available for free use. Naturally, our nursing staff will keep an eye on your well-being. You can also actively call yourself by pressing the nurse call button. Our service staff will also be happy to provide you with drinks.

The outpatient surgery treatment rooms

Our high standards of hygiene also apply in the outpatient surgery centre. But the equipment is also of the highest quality. For example, the specialists have double monitors at their disposal, which can be used to access all the contents of their digital patient files at any time. Via the intelligent communication network, the specialist can access findings, X-ray images, arthroscopy images or your medication at any time. If required, the surgeon can send the data in HD quality to colleagues and the radiology department in-house or externally, for example to Heidelberg University Hospital. This ensures that a second set of findings can be requested without delay if the surgeon deems it necessary.

Mobile devices for fast outpatient operations

Speed and flexibility are an advantage for outpatient operations. This is why all imaging equipment in our outpatient surgery centre is not permanently installed, but mobile and flexible to use. This means that these devices can always be used where they are needed. In addition to ultrasound equipment, this also applies to our state-of-the-art mobile X-ray unit. This mobile X-ray unit allows the surgeon to act quickly during the operation. An X-ray image can be taken in the operating theatre. An additional monitor with flexible alignment enables the surgeon to see the new X-ray image within seconds. A specialist can hardly react more flexibly and quickly. All these mobile devices and the flexibility serve your health. Because short operating times protect your body and ensure a faster recovery with optimum treatment.
