SPORTS ORTHOPAEDICS AND SPORTS TRAUMATOLOGY – QUICKLY FIT AGAIN THANKS TO CUTTING-EDGE MEDICINE

Unfortunately, injuries are inevitable in sport. However, contrary to popular belief, around 70 – 80 % of sports injuries are not caused by spectacular accidents or fouls. Rather, they are acute and chronic complaints caused by overloading the musculoskeletal system. However, pain and injuries prevent recreational athletes from participating in sport. For competitive athletes, injuries can jeopardise their entire career.

In our Department of Sports Orthopaedics and Sports Traumatology at the ETHIANUM, we are fully committed to the treatment of sports injuries. Our aim is to get both recreational and professional athletes pain-free and fit for their sport as quickly as possible.

To achieve this, we work on an interdisciplinary basis. Specialised specialists in orthopaedics and trauma surgery, sports medicine and sports traumatology are at your side. The ETHIANUM Heidelberg also has its own in-house physiotherapy practice. This combination has many advantages for you as our client.

Thanks to our facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, we can determine the type of injury very quickly. Based on this reliable diagnosis, our specialists work with you to develop a strategically sensible treatment that is as gentle as possible. At the ETHIANUM, we offer you the entire range of conservative treatment measures. In addition, we have specialists for surgical interventions who specialise in arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures. In co-operation with the in-house physiotherapy practice, we can also offer you targeted rehabilitation measures following your treatment.
