Prof. Dr. med. Jörg Holstein
SPECIALIST FOR HIP AND KNEE ARTHROPLASTY – TOP ORTHOPAEDIC MEDICINE
Prof Dr Jörg Holstein is a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery. Prof Dr Holstein holds additional qualifications in special orthopaedic surgery, special trauma surgery, hand surgery, manual medicine/chiropractic therapy, physical therapy and balneology, emergency medicine and X-ray diagnostics. Prof Dr Holstein is an international specialist when it comes to minimally invasive and muscle-sparing hip joint endoprosthetics using the AMIS technique. He is also a leading specialist in the field of knee joint arthroplasty.
Prof Dr Holstein acquired his broad medical knowledge during his many years of orthopaedic and trauma surgery. He completed his studies at the Charité in Berlin, the University of Heidelberg and the University of California in San Diego/USA. Prof Dr Holstein gained 15 years of extensive experience in the conservative and surgical treatment of injuries and diseases of the human musculoskeletal system at Saarland University Hospital in Homburg/Saar, most recently in a senior position. To this day, his medical progress is always based on the latest scientific findings as well as regular further training and dialogue with medical experts worldwide. In addition to his work as a practising physician, he trains German and international orthopaedic colleagues in the technique of minimally invasive hip joint endoprosthetics (AMIS) as a surgical instructor and consultant.
Prof Dr Holstein always pursues all these activities in the interests of the client. “The well-being of my clients always comes first,” he says. “At the ETHIANUM, I am able to practise in an environment in which every client can receive comprehensive advice without time pressure and independent of budgeting regulations. Always with a view to the best individual diagnosis and treatment.” It is also important to the orthopaedic specialist that, despite his specialisation in arthroplasty, he is not perceived as being fixated on surgery. “Only a doctor who has an overview of the entire spectrum of diagnosis and treatment – including non-operative treatment – and can offer his clients first-class services as part of a team of specialised specialists,” says Prof. Dr Holstein.
The ambitious character of the hip and knee expert is also evident in his private life. The married father of three children keeps himself fit with sporting activities such as running, skiing and playing football. He is also inspired by Italian cuisine, which he loves to prepare himself.
