LIPOSUCTION – THE LATEST METHODS AGAINST UNWANTED FAT DEPOSITS
Liposuction is always a sensible method for removing annoying fat deposits if they do not want to disappear despite exercise, diet and a healthy diet. At the ETHIANUM, we offer you a completely new way of individually and specifically modelling the muscles under a layer of fat with high definition liposuction. This allows fat cells to be precisely removed and the underlying muscles to be emphasised. The result is a more defined and muscular appearance than with old surgical methods, in which the fatty tissue is simply suctioned out over a large area.
High Definition Liposuction is based on the tried and tested Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL). This modern method is performed using optimised vibrating cannulas. These enable more precise removal of individual areas of fat, allowing the surgeon to model the appearance with pinpoint accuracy. A major advantage of high definition liposuction is that the technique is even more gentle on the tissue than previous procedures. In principle, fat deposits can be reduced in almost all areas of the body.
It is also possible to use the fatty tissue obtained during liposuction for further contour enhancement. The buttocks, for example, are often tightened or enlarged. Breast augmentation with autologous tissue is also popular.

LIPOSUCTION – THE COURSE OF AN OPERATION
Liposuction is precision work performed by a plastic and aesthetic surgeon. The surgeon must not only remove fatty tissue in a targeted manner, but also model it evenly to give you a harmonious overall appearance.
Liposuction is preceded by a detailed consultation. It is important to the specialists at the ETHIANUM that you undergo the procedure voluntarily and that you are informed as comprehensively as possible and informed about possible risks. The consultation also includes a medical history, in which you will be examined and asked about medication or other illnesses, for example. There is also room for your questions as well as your wishes and requirements during the consultation. Together with the aesthetic surgery specialist, you will discuss which surgical method is best for you and what you need to bear in mind.
Liposuction can take one to two hours. The operation can be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis. If you are staying as an inpatient, you are free to register an accompanying person.
- Anaesthesia
Depending on the surgical method, it is possible to have a local anaesthetic or a general anaesthetic. The anaesthetist can also put you into a comfortable twilight sleep for the duration of the procedure. Of course, you will receive detailed individual advice from the anaesthetists at our clinic. - Incision and suction
Liposuction begins with the creation of minimal skin incisions, which are placed inconspicuously. The specialist then inserts a thin hollow needle (cannula) through these incisions and moves it back and forth in a very targeted manner. At the same time, the so-called tumescent solution is infiltrated, which creates space between the muscle and fatty tissue and ensures that the excess fatty tissue is loosened. These loosened fat cells are then sucked out of the body using a vacuum syringe connected to the cannula. And this is precisely where a great deal of sensitivity is required, as an experienced surgeon will take particular care to minimise damage to the neighbouring tissue. The surgeon works with the criss-cross technique, in which suction is applied to two opposing areas in a fan shape. In this way, dents and ripples can be largely avoided. - The result of liposuction
Once the operation is complete, the treated areas are covered with an elastic bandage or compression garment. If fluid accumulates, it can drain through the small incisions. Our bodies often react to liposuction with fluid deposits or swelling. You should therefore consistently wear the compression garment recommended by your surgeon postoperatively. You will see the full result after the swelling has subsided.
