Prof. Dr. Christine Müller-Christmann

Specialist in Dermatology and Venereology

Prof. Dr. Müller-Christmann heads the Dermatology department at ETHIANUM, contributing her expertise in the fields of venous diseases, aesthetic dermatology, and laser medicine. After studying human medicine at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, she completed her doctorate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas E. May on the subject of vascular and regenerative cardiology. Her surgical training subsequently took her to the Department of General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery at Heidelberg University Hospital, where she worked under Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Markus W. Büchler.

She completed her specialist training in dermatology and venereology at the University Dermatology Clinic in Heidelberg. As a senior physician, she took over the management of the departments for aesthetic dermatology, laser medicine, phlebology, and the wound care clinic there. In addition to the supplementary qualification in phlebology, she gained further specialization in laser medicine with the Diploma in Aesthetic Laser Medicine (D.A.L.M.) from the University of Greifswald.

At the Faculty of Medicine of the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg, she completed her habilitation in the field of AI-assisted diagnostics for skin cancer detection, for which she was appointed adjunct professor. With over 100 scientific publications and book contributions, Prof. Dr. Müller-Christmann is one of the sought-after speakers at national and international specialist congresses, and now supports ETHIANUM’s patients with this comprehensive expertise.

• 2020 – Habilitation and attainment of the Venia Legendi for the field of Dermatology and Venereology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg
• 2022 – Award of the Diploma in Aesthetic Laser Medicine (D.A.L.M.) by the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald
• 2023 – Appointment as APL Professor (adjunct professor) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg
