Dr. Th. Felix Gramley, MD, PhD, FESC, is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology. He heads the Department of Preventive Medicine at the ETHIANUM Clinic in Heidelberg. Born in Constance in 1973, the American citizen has extensive qualifications as a board certified internist and cardiologist, which make him ideally suited for preventive medicine.

Dr. Felix Gramley completed medical school in Münster and North Carolina, USA, supplemented by study visits to Alabama, USA, and France. He obtained his medical degree in both Germany and the USA.

With more than 15 years of experience at various university hospitals, the diversity of Dr Gramley’s specialisations is remarkable. The internist and cardiologist specialises in arrythmias and hypertension. He wrote his PhD thesis on atrial fibrillation and cardiac arrhythmias. He devotes particular attention to these topics at the ETHIANUM.

Dr. Gramley performs all implantation procedures and follow-ups of all types of defibrillators (ICDs) and pacemakers at the ETHIANUM. He also performs transoesophageal echocardiographies, i.e. ultrasound examinations of the heart by way of the food pipe. Non-invasive detection of circulatory disorders using stress echocardiography help complete cardiological services at the ETHIANUM. At the ETHIANUM, Dr. Gramley has all the time he needs as an internist to do his work and help his clients: “The working conditions for us doctors at the ETHIANUM are ideal. In addition to all these qualifications, Dr. Gramley has extensive experience in the field of research. His expertise is characterised by a wide range of consulting and expert activities for research and industry.

Dr. Gramley is married and his wife is also a medical doctor. Their two children are growing up bilingually. His leisure time is characterised by a wide range of activities with his family and a love of gardening. The passionate runner also keeps fit by running marathons and half marathons and estimates his annual mileage at well over 1,200 kilometres.
